Benjamin Weiser’s Performance Pistol Fundamentals is a training course for experienced intermediate and advanced pistol shooters.
Pre-registration is required - no walk-ins.
Where: Jackson Hole Gun Club in Jackson, WY,
When: 10/10/2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
What: Performance Pistol Fundamentals addresses core elements of pistol shooting in dynamic environments. This course is designed for individuals seeking to enhance their pistol shooting ability for any purpose. Participants will engage in a range of shooting and gun handling exercises, with a strong emphasis on speed, accuracy, and movement. Students will leave with a clear understanding of pistol shooting within a straightforward and objective-based framework.
Participants must arrive with a strong understanding of safe firearm handling and the ability to work safely in a range environment with other shooters. It is recommended that students have shot at least hundreds, or preferably thousands of rounds in the last six months, as this course is not suitable for beginners.
We will plan to shoot a lot. A recommended round count is provided, but please bring more ammunition if you wish. If you want to shoot more, you will have the opportunity to do so, and you will almost certainly benefit from it.
You will need:
A properly functioning semi-automatic pistol (red dot optics are strongly encouraged)
A quality belt-mounted holster
At least two extra magazines
Magazine pouch(es) that allows for drawing and replacement with one hand
500 rounds of ammunition
Hearing protection (electronic protection is strongly encouraged)
Eye protection
*Note— if you are looking for a beginner class — basic fundamentals class, this is not it. We will have those coming in November, please check back.

Whether you're new to concealed carry or an experienced shooter looking to sharpen your skills, this course provides practical instruction to help you become a more confident and capable firearm owner.
Led by owner, Nick Jones, this four-hour course combines classroom education with hands-on, live-fire training, giving participants the opportunity to learn essential concepts and put those skills into practice on the range.
Part One – Classroom Instruction
We'll begin with an interactive classroom session covering Wyoming concealed carry and self-defense laws, the responsibilities of carrying a firearm, situational awareness, and the fundamentals of an effective everyday carry setup. We'll also introduce dry-fire exercises to help develop safe, consistent firearm handling techniques.
Part Two – Live-Fire Range Training
Following the classroom portion, we'll head to the range for hands-on training. Our instructors will guide participants through practical shooting exercises focused on firearm safety, accuracy, control, and defensive shooting fundamentals.
Participants will also have the opportunity to complete the Concealed Carry Qualification Shoot.
Students who successfully complete the qualification will receive a certificate intended for use when applying for a Wyoming Concealed Firearms Permit, subject to applicable state requirements.
